>Fatigue cracks have occurred at the weld toe of the connection plates between the floor beams and main truss chord members. This type of crack has been found at almost all locations of the same details in the bridge. Average crack length is about 50 mm, ranges from 12 mm to 119 mm. Cracks have propagated through the weld metal of fillet welding.&br;

**6.Probable Causes of Fatigue Cracks [#m13225cc]
>High stress concentration at the damaged portion induced by deflection of floor beams. Fixed end moment of floor beams which is designed as simple support beams.&br;
&br;
**7.Repair Procedures and The Effects [#k693fab9]
>Cracks were removed by air arc gouging and re-welded. The upper flange of the floor beam was connected to the upper flange of box section truss chord by welding the newly attached connection plate. Stress measurement was conducted before and after the repairing works and remarkable reduction of stress at the cracked location was confirmed.&br;
